Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering or a related field, plus a Master’s in Business Administration.
Experience:
- A minimum of 15 years in telecommunications or 20 years in a related, capital-intensive industry. At least 75% of experience must be as a supply chain professional.
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior management role, with direct reporting to a C-suite executive.

Job Summary
The General Manager Supply Chain (GMSC) is an executive committee leader responsible for overseeing the organization’s entire supply chain, including procurement, leased property acquisition, energy control, facilities & warehousing, and logistics. The GMSC is responsible, and accountable, for the development of strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, manage supply chain risks, thereby ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to the business. The GMSC therefore bridges the gap between operations and corporate goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning – Define and implement end-to-end supply chain strategies that align with company growth, sustainability, and competitive goals.
- Operational Management – Oversees procurement, leased site acquisition, energy supply & control, supplier & landlord relations, inventory control, facilities warehousing, transportation, and logistics.
- Technology & Optimization – Drive digital transformation, leveraging technology to enhance visibility, efficiency, and forecasting accuracy.
- Risk Management – Develop contingency plans for global disruptions and manage supplier risk.
- Leadership & Collaboration – Lead supply chain departments and collaborate with EXCOM to optimize company-wide performance.
- Cost Control – Improve cost-effectiveness without compromising quality or service levels.
- Compliance & Governance – Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, regulatory requirements, audit recommendations, transparency best practices, and business ethics.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Time to market
- Procurement cycle efficiency
- Site roll-out and CSP (customer service point) handover as per business plan
- Total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction
- Energy costs per site/CSP
- Total revenue, opex budget savings, operating profit, capex budget capitalization
- Resolution lead time of outstanding audit points
- Customer satisfaction rating
